being cook: Vegan Vanilla Donuts


As you may know, I'm on a quest to be healthy these days. This "mission” and my love of donuts may not seem to fit well together. Lucky for me, there are healthy donut recipes out there! The recipe below is one of my favorites. It's also awesome for anyone who has food allergies. This recipe is dairy-free, gluten-free and egg-free. I can’t wait to have you try this. After all, donuts are life!

(Makes 9 donuts)


1/4 cup coconut flour
1/4 cup potato starch  
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup coconut sugar

7 tbsp coconut milk
2 tablespoons coconut oil
2 tsp vanilla extract

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar


Mix together all dry ingredients (coconut flour, potato starch etc.) in a medium bowl.  

Add wet ingredients (coconut oil, vanilla extract,and coconut milk). Stir together until smooth.

Grease donut pan with coconut oil and add donut batter. (Found in any home goods store.) 

Bake at 325 F for 10-12 minutes.

While donuts are cooking, mix cinnamon sugar topping together in a small bowl.

Once the donuts are out of the oven, simply toss each one in the cinnamon sugar topping mixture. 

Eat while warm. These are yummy and simple!
