Saint James Paris

Looking back at 2017 has been so fun! We did my favorite thing in the world: travel! Our most recent trip was a return to Paris and Iceland (Where we were engaged and married!). More on Iceland later, but for now I want to focus on our stay in Paris. It was extra special thanks to the wonderful hotel, Saint James Paris Relais & Chateaux.

Saint James Paris Relais & Chateaux is a palace of relaxation, a calm shelter in the center of big-city craziness. It is framed in a sheltered expanse of gardens and terraces, all hidden behind an ornate arch and circular drive.

The entrance to Saint James was so exquisite our Uber drivers were literally intimidated to drive in. They thought this was someone’s elaborate private residence. Nope, this was our hotel and it was beautiful!

Saint James is a 100 year-old chateau where the first hot air balloon flights in Paris landed. They keep the historic charm of the hot air balloons by incorporating some allusions to it throughout (as you’ll see by the decorations we’ve featured!).

Saint James is full of exquisite beauty. Each room has it’s own unique charm, as the designer, Bambi Sloan, was given total freedom to design as she saw fit. I’ve honestly never seen anything decorated in such a unique way. Our hotel room had a distinctly Parisian flare with massive ceilings and spacious, regal furniture! There was plenty of space to unwind after crazy bustling walks in the streets of Paris.

This hotel is also home to a Michelin Star restaurant, so you’re given exceptional service at all times. Aaron and I are huge breakfast people, so we loved rising early and spending each morning in the glorious dining room.

We sat at tables decked in white linen under shimmering chandeliers. Beautiful tapestry drapes framed sun-drenched windows. Massive classic paintings decked the walls. What a way to start the day!

Since all are given exquisite service here, we also had the option of getting breakfast delivered to our room. I have to admit, I always love a good breakfast in bed, especially when the bed is draped in canopies and wrapped in silken sheets!

Walking through the grounds of Saint James makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. You expect to meet Marie Antoinette walking stone paths lined with manicured hedges, bubbling fountains and quaint statues.

I would highly recommend a stay at the Saint James Paris Relais & Chateaux if you want a regal, and oh-so-peaceful place of escape in the illustrious City Of Lights!
